About Me

My name is Tasneem.

I am:

A nutritionist

A photographer

A writer

A daughter

A blogger

A chef

An entrepreneur

A sister

A dreamer

A student

But most importantly I am a PROUD Muslim woman and my religion has enabled me to be the woman I am today. I started this blog after realizing there was no platform to recognize Muslim women who have amazing accomplishments. Our mainstream media is saturated with images and stories of Muslim women who are “oppressed” which does not represent the large majority of Muslim women. With Mosaic you can join me in meeting all these women around the world and learning about the amazing women of our past.

    Hello Tasneem,

Your mom just sent me the link to your new ‘Mosaic” webiste. I think it’s not only a great website but it’s also a great idea. And I think it’s needed…. it will support and improve the Muslim woman image in this crazy, false and media-saturated world we are living in today.
I especially liked what you wrote in your profile – “About Me” – above.

I admire you for your initiatives and I’m really proud to be your friend….

I wish you success in everything you do!

    All my love,

    Lorie B.

    Salam Tasneem! :)

I stumbled across your blog as I curiously googled Khawla bint al-Azwar. I was intrigued as she was described to me as one of the greatest warriors in Islam but her name was unbeknownst to me. What lovely treasures I found in not only her story but the lives of so many pious women! MashAllah. Over the past hour, I have devoured each of your posts. THANK YOU SOO MUCH for lighting up my day and for your noble efforts to portray the believing woman in magnificent light.

I, like many others, eagerly await your future posts! :)
Also, if there are any books that you have come across in your research that you would highly recommend, especially regarding the believing women, please do share.

    Take care,
    Your sister in faith :)

    Assalamualaikum Tasneem

I have come across your blog two days ago, and I am so thrilled, and grateful for your effort in recognizing Muslim women and the Islamic content on your site. I am currently in the midst of planning my wedding but I am making time in between all these tasks to sit back, relax, and enjoy your articles. :)

    Thanks again. Take care
